Absolutely nothing in the United States of America will change until there is public campaign financing and getting the lobbyists out of the political system. End of discussion because money rules in both parties. Check any PDC information on any listing of candidates. Many, many, many PACs, Fire/Police unions, etc. contribute to both sides in an effort to cover all bases of power.

I hope everyone is OK and this is just a case of too few people available to do the work. If so, there are plenty of people out here I’m sure, myself included, willing to volunteer a little of their time to help make this operation run more smoothly. I know it doesn’t take that much time to at least post something on the front page letting us know what’s going on.

Sad but happy people and you and Mike are seeing the man behind the speech. It’s enough to make you believe in a real, functioning shadow government and Obama is their Manchurian candidate. His backsliding, reneging and lying on not just surveillance but torture, Guantanamo, state secrets, detainee photos, the Predator attacks in Pakistan that have killed nearly 500 people, no 911 investigation, the surge in Afghanistan (the second stupidest war in history) – the list just goes on.

If you want reasoned, researched and documented indictments of the Obama regime, read Glenn Greenwald over at Salon.com. His commentaries are, in my opinion, among the very best.

As for what to do about all this. One thing I have learned is that change, real change, not the hopey kind, will not come until we have reached the black hard bottom. Then a new society will arise, but it will be from the ashes.

Sorry if I harsh anyone’s mellow, but that’s the way I see it. On the brighter side, there is still a small chance we can blunder our way through to a more sustainable world where we can all have enough to eat and a place to live and work. In peace.

Men in my family have served in the military; at least as far back as the American Civil War!

Sadly, I can only think of anyone who joins any of these death machines as suckers and brutes.
