President Obama is creating a bipartisan task force to deal with the debt and deficit. The members are yet to be named, but it will be interesting to see the composition of the group and what solutions they might devise to climb out of the economic pit largely created by the Bush administrations’ endless war spending, tax cuts for the rich, and the deregulation on the banking and mortgage industries that allowed so many Americans to pile up mountains of debt that could never be fully repaid.
In other news, Chief Architect and Turd Blossom extraordinaire Karl Rove has crept back into the headlines with an article in the Wall Street Journal detailing his advice and talking points for the Tea Party Movement. Uh oh, looks like he’s up to his old king-making antics again. Or would that be queen?
Finally, former Top Cop Bernie Kerik – the man Bush wanted to head the Department of Homeland Security – heads to prison for a 4-year sentence for eight counts of felony tax fraud and lying to White House officials. Gee, now if we could just send some of those lying White House officials to the Big House, then justice would be served!

A task force for the debt problem? Please. How about not spending more than you take in. There, boom, done. I just saved the “task force” a lot of time. Give me that Federal Budget. I will cut that sucker. I will run it just like I run my household budget. Can’t pay for it. Can’t buy it. The debt game will end. I hear ya, “Oh, it can’t be that easy.” Baloney. It is that easy. I will end the welfare state as we know it. I will get the government out of everything it has no business being involved in. I will bring our troops home. The waste will not get funded. I have no agenda to get “re-elected”. Nobody can buy me. I am the parasites worst nightmare.
I believe everything Ken said. It is to bad that we didn’t read the tea leaves correctly…then we would have known that Mr. Obama was a corporatist.
I have a friend, Dennis Morrisseau, who was an Army officer who stood before the White House in 1968 and opposed the Vietnam war and refused to serve. He was court-martialed, but his legal team defeated that, and he hasn’t stopped his anti-war activism since then.
He’s from Vermont, and not only wants to kick all the creeps in Congress out, but he has been relentless in advocating that Vermont succeed from the Union. He’s a colorful guy.

Ignorance by choice is nothing we can change. But still let them remember all of those end stage renal patients that have been picked up by the federal government. When no insurance company would take them on we did that and it works perfectly. I do not hear them fighting for a dialysis machine, I do not see any patients being denied a kidney transplant because they had a pre existing condition. Nor do not see any of my patients fighting for a machine to dialyze on I do not see that. All I see is a patient so grateful for another chance at life, all I see is a federally financed healthcare system working so well
All I see is one of my patients given a chance of a normal life without their family having to declare bancrupsy. What I know single payer works and it works so well. When we take the greed of the corporatists away from this mix then Sir it works so well. But I wonder if you have the courage to stand tall against this?
We voted for you and sent what little money we had left and now if you do not stand tall in this fight then you will have abandoned us all out here. But I have to ask you this Barac if you do not fight for this then these republicans will surely take you down.

you can run the budget like you run your house, but without tarifs on chinese products, you’re still going to have a huge money hemorrhage.

Don’t kid yourself. The whole purpose of this commission is to allow the Chicago Boys to finally strip Social Security and Medicare. Congress rejected to creation of this commission, so Obama created it through executive order stating it was too important to leave to congress. Of course health care reform was OK to leave to congress but if Obama wants to finally realize the conservative wet dream of eliminating the remnants of The New Deal he has to leave that to Larry Summers.
