Today BP executives claimed that they are capturing 15,000 barrels of oil a day from the catastrophic, poisonous geyser they created 51 days ago, and that the government has no evidence of large underwater plumes of oil. This after originally claiming only 5,000 barrels a day were flooding out of the severed pipe. And, you have to wonder, if there are no underwater plumes of oil, where does BP think it’s all going? Are magic mermaids scooping it up in magic conch shells and turning it into beautiful, life-sustaining coral reefs?
Millions of gallons have gushed into the Gulf. If it’s not forming giant underwater pools or plumes, how does BP account for it all?
Worse, judging from the live high-definition undersea video BP was forced to release under threat from Congress, it is clear the unstoppable flow of oil from the broken pipe has increased since the riser cut last week. We may never know the true scope of this disaster, and I’m certain next week’s Congressional hearings will be interesting when BP CEO Tony “I Want My Life Back” Hayward gives his testimony.
We’ll also discuss the outcomes of Tuesday’s elections, and take LOTS of your phone calls on the program tonight! Call 877-996-2556!

You have been purged.
We want no memory of you.
Go back to the kibbutz.
Huh???
Ariel.
The world is going crazy.
We need to enjoy the game of soccer more in our country.
Soccer is fun.
Get into the World Cup fever!
I’m still thinking that “oil” is the Earth’s blood, and BP seems to have hit an artery and we have no tourniquet that can stop the bleeding. Will this finally be the wound that kills Her!?!
Oh just GO THE FUCK AWAY!!!! You were the one race-baiting and when someone made a vague comment about you “possibly” being Jewish, you LATCHED onto it and wouldn’t let go. Personally, I think you’re a 13 year old male lesbian with a bad case of acne, an abnormally small penis, and obviously NO real social life, and no, you’re NEVER going to get laid – EVER!
Here’s what I propose to take care of this Dan-twat. Make a few changes to the website so if someone wants to comment on any of the daily blog posting, they HAVE to register and sign in. That should at least discourage little shits like Dan-twat.
What if they gave an election and no one came? Some of us think it’s time to armor up and NOT vote…that is if one lives in say, Arkansas, does one vote for the corporate Dim Blanche or the Corporate Gooper? Of course, with a “choice” it ain’t an election, anyway. Here in Nevada we have the “choice ” of an anti Social Security Tea-Baggin fan of Scientology and the Spelunker in Chief, he knows about caving Harry, friend of Jay Bybee. So the solution is to with-hold our votes! …Thereby denying the Bastards any claim of legitimacy. VOTE STRIKE!
Let’s Review, According to the SCROTUS Corps are “persons” but since they are of unknown parentage they are “bastards”….too
Dude,
Did you know that Robert Gibbs (Bohica’s) spokesman in chief, was a Soccer Goal Tender at NC State…The Wolfpack? And now for something entirely different…Does Orly Taitz defeat represent a set back for transgendered candidates or Zionists or what? As we say in Atlanta…oh, the Humidity, the Humidity
Fruit-for Peace,
I wonder, can Dan be a Lesbian, since, he is probably circumcised…though Seattle is known as “The Queen City”…and you can probably get good (Kosher?) Chinese food there.
so now obama is disparaging the unions.
can you imagine LBJ ever doing that?
Irishdave,
Good to know.
Crow,
I’m a union member.
I’ve been using CFLs (compact flourescent lightbulbs) in my home for more than a year now.
Do any of you use them?
…anyone want to get back to the real issues that affect us all?
The first thing I do when I move into an apartment is replace every single incandescent bulb for a compact fluorescent. The compacts are really inexpensive nowadays, so no reason not to.
I heard that Looney Orly is now going to try and sue the guy she lost to saying that he’s ineligible to hold office. Cu-coo!

who are you yelling at? danny has been banned from the blog for his rude, psychotic behavior.
i think he lives in the state hospital in seattle, though i am not sure.
Oops, that didn’t work out too well.

Oh, Dan-twat was able to sneak on another of his ranting bat guano. Thankfully someone is monitoring the board and deleting that psycho’s rants as soon as he posts them. Whew!
Fruit 4 Peace,
Also, I was in my local Lowe’s store and saw an LED bulb that was reasonably priced…finally. Of course, as we all know, new technology takes some time to become affordable. So, I figure, so enough the LED bulbs will come down enough in price and offer enough varieties that I’ll be able to get them to replace my CFLs. Although I haven’t needed to change most of my CFLs in over a year! Good times!
CFL’s made in
China?
Irishdave,
What is your point?
Nothing is made in this country any longer. Well, except for my supper. I made that myself.
Fruit and Irishdave,
I wish everything I purchased was made in this country, but that is an unrealistic expectation.
I try to buy newer technologies that can save me money, just so that I can survive. No one in my home is getting wealthy, ya know? So any little bit helps.
I agree, Dude. It will be nice to see the L.E.D. lights come down in price so they are affordable for everyone. That would make a HUGE cut in the use of electricity use. It just another one of the tools we can all use to try and get off oil, coal, etc.
Fruit-For-Peace,
Totally!
And another thing…..
I hope that someday, and maybe it already exists, solar electricity companies/installers (?) can provide smaller systems for homes that don’t need the size of the systems currently being offered. In other words, the systems currently offered are too big and expensive for someone like me. If they offered a system that generated half as much energy and cost half as much, then I’d get it! But, as things are currently, I cannot afford it.
Someday, I suppose.
Fruit-For-Peace,
I’ve even had thoughts of turning half of my (un-used) backyard into a mini-solar farm!…selling some energy back to the electric company and even making a profit! (If the current laws/regulations allowed it, of course!)
Dude and FFP,
I’m just saying that American Jobs is a serious issue that effects us… did you not notice that in a Capitalist (Crime) economy, doing the right thing is always punished(higher prices) and doing the wrong thing is always rewarded (Bigger Boni[plural of bonus]). Do you realize that if Spelunker Reid goes down AND Dims retain a majority in the U.S. Senate the next leader is likely to be….Chuckie Schumer?
Irishdave,
On jobs……
Outsourcing is a huge issue with me. And, the way I see it, a certain amount of accountability rests with the employers. I mean, at what point does one decide to forsake his fellow countryman/neighbor for a larger profit margin?
Of course, I could easily dovetail into the question of, “How much is enough?”. As we all know, in the eyes of Capitalism, even too much is never enough!
So, in some ways, I see no difference between the corporate-owned Republicans and the corporate-owned Democrats.
That is why I am Non-Partisan.
I would LOVE to have all these manufacturing jobs brought BACK to the States. Personally, I think the government should have stepped in a LONG time ago and made it ILLEGAL for all the corporations to move the jobs and manufacturing elsewhere. I see it as a matter of National Security! How can you have a “secure” nation when you are TOTALLY dependent on other countries for everything we need!?! How can you have a “secure” nation when your citizens have NO chance of getting a job where they can take care of themselves and their families!?! A person can only take it so long before they CRACK!
Fruit,
True.
I’ve heard, occasionally, and from various people, that various tax-incentives would be offered for every outsourced job that is returned home. I hope the offers are sincere, and enticing enough to get our jobs back!
Dude, I don’t know where you live or what the soil is like, but you could possibly turn part of that yard of yours into a WONDERFUL garden where you can grow your own DELICIOUS food!
I used to have my own home with two huge gardens where I grew my own fruits and veggies and I would can and make preserves, and I had delicious home-grown food that lasted me all winter and into the spring. Nothing better than home-grown!
Speaking of lifting embargoes, when is the U.S. going to FINALLY lift this inhumane, unethical embargo against Cuba!?!
Fruit,
I don’t have much of a green thumb. Plus, I have a bad back.
So, keeping a garden is mostly out of the question, which is why my thoughts turned to making it into a solar farm.
As for Cuba…..hmmmm…….I really don’t know. I suspect a change might be considered when Castro passes. Who knows?
The solar farm is still a great idea. I know at least 30 years ago one of my science teachers had a windmill on his farm and was generating electricity for his own use and selling the surplus and was making quite a bit of coin in doing so. That was 30 YEARS ago. No reason why in 30 years we all couldn’t have a wind/solar/geo-thermal/tidal system to be generating all of our electricity.
The idea that we are still using oil, coal, and freaking nuclear, for Pete’s sake – it just horrifies me!
how deepwater drilling ever made any sense to anyone is beyond comprehension.
the gusher is 1 mile below the surface. 1 mile. 5100 feet.
a nuclear sub can maybe go 3000 feet. maybe. pushing the crush barrier.
of course, the lease is probably pennies on the dollar to anywhere else on earth.
pure greed will always trump common sense.
I also still don’t know why the U.S. is allowing BP to dictate what does and does NOT get released to the public. Since WHEN does the U.S. Coast Guard take orders from a FOREIGN corporation!?! Why does BP get to REFUSE to allow scientists to see ALL the data and video!?! There has GOT to be a way to kick BP out of the way and invite in an international coalition to solve this problem, and STILL hold BP responsible.
the gusher is for all intents and purposes beyond the capabilities of the government.
they have the feds by the short hairs.
Fruit and Crow,
I’m guessing that there is at least a chance that the situation is so un-fixable that the parties involved don’t want to panic the country/world with the truth.
I hope I’m wrong.
Only time will tell.
For once, I actually hope BP completely caps the leak so that they can get their money-hungry hands on the oil, rather than having the oil destroying life in the waters of the Gulf, and, eventually, the world.
What a nightmare!

Danny is completely gone. It’s as if he never existed! Was it all just a dream, Auntie Em?
Fruit for Peace and Dude,
Get the states you live in to pass a net metering law like in NY State and Maryland. Then people can store the power they don’t use on the grid (meter runs backwards) until one uses more electricity than they are producing with a solar system. Also see this article about a company in Mauritius (island off southeast coast of Africa) that makes small solar systems for low electricity use. I live in an apartment too and have switched to CFLs. My brother gave me the ones he inherited from the seller when he bought his house because he thinks CFLs are too dim. I’ll look for LED bulbs, thanks for the tip that Lowe’s is cutting the price.

danny is gone.
he was weak and ignorant, and he paid the price.
As someone from Seattle let me appoligize to everyone for that Dan from Seattle character. I can attest that he does not represent the majority of us here in the small blue patch of reality in the northwest. (Seriously, as soon as you leave Seattle city limits you are in right wing wacko land and we can all assume he lives in someplace like Kent or Auburn Washington)
That is all…
Guys like Dan really scare me. I know that I can get a little psycho at times, but that was over the top. And those e-mails Mike posted on the previous thread make me want to move to a different planet.
SHEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!! Where do these nutjobs come from?
@ chucky
I saw those emails too and they ARE scary. Scarier yet, is that they probably consider themselves to be American “patriots.” Sad!
Jape…I wonder when being a complete ass-hat became patiotic?
It’s people like Dan, Sean Hannity, Limbaugh, and Savage that have made me loathe words like patriot and freedom.
Speaking of Savage, I was away this past weekend in Wisconsin watching some motorcycle races. All I could get on the radio in the area I was at was right-wing lunatic radio. I heard a little bit of Michael Savages program.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way in hell that son of a bitch should EVER be released from a mental institution. What a freakin’ loon! He saw rings around the sun one day and actually thought it was a message from god. What garbage pit spewed this psycho bastard up?
@chucky, Savage is the load his momma should have swallowed.
You got that right Andy!
The Savage Wiener is the way he is because Alan Ginsberg rejected the Wiener’s wiener.
danny boy had diarhhea of the mouth
he wouldn’t take advice.
luckily the missing sailor/teen is not in the gulf of mexico.
she would have died from the fumes by now.
Tonight’s Trivia Question: What do Louis “Lepke” Buchalter, Anthony Weiner, Michael Savage, Chuck Schumer and Mike Mukasy have in common? Answer: Aside from being Jewish douchebages, they were all born in Brooklyn…execpt for Mukasy and The Savage Weiner, born in The Bronx.
the zionist israelis are chronic liars and war criminals. the support from this country is utterly untenable.
let’s blame helen thomas.
@ chucky
“Rings around the sun?” A rational person might worry about having glaucoma, but not Savage. He’d rather be diagnosed as a mentally ill, right-wing, religious whackjob.

Jape….Glaucoma…or maybe just some sort of natural phenomena. I still can’t figure out why nobody puts these psychos in a rubber room. The fact that they are on the street loose is terrifying.
re the pro Israel incitement video ‘we con the world’
Send the link to that video of every newspaper, or web site, where you read a column by Caroline Glick the contact person for the hate video. She is an op ed columnist who had a column that realclearpolitics.com aggregated. The column was accusing Arab country delegations to the Nov 2007 Annapolis, MD peace conference (more like photo op) of being prejudiced because they wouldn’t walk through the same door or shake hands with Tzipi Livni the Israel Foreign Minister at the time.
Glick ignored the Muslim prohibition of touching a woman one wasn’t married to or of walking through different entrances to buildings by Jews or Muslims. Even Jewish orthodox synagogues separate the sexes right down to sex-segregated praying areas at the Western Wall below the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosques.
In Iran before the 2009 elections, Ahmedinejad’s predecessor, Mohammed Khatami, was hounded out of running in part because he shook the hand of a woman he wasn’t married to when he visited Italy.
re: Hans Landa joke…the punchline really is “the bartender says…’what is this, a joke?’”
