The Heat is On

Brad Friedman continues guest hosting duties for the rest of this week; Mike returns LIVE Monday the 12th to review the news stories he missed this week.  As promised, Molly participated in our local community 4th of July parade.  Just a reminder that Peace is Patriotic, and that the Teabaggers don’t “own” patriotism!

Molly is growing up to be an insightful, quietly confident young lady with good internal motivation ‘she knows what she wants’ attitude. I notice more facial resemblance to Mike, her father, than Kathy, her mother. Keep explaining the slogan, “Well behaved women seldom make history,” on the t-shirt Mike said she wears. Her facial expression in the pictures supports the shirt slogan.

What does the 4th of the July mean to the Tillman family. The same thing it meant slaves of Frederick Douglas’ time

I never saw Molly before. She is a beauty, more likely she takes after her mother. Molly is a child like all of the other children in this country that we must protect so that when they grow up they have the full freedoms that we had as a child. May the good people of this nation such as Mike and Kathy and the rest of us work hard to hold onto our democracy so Molly continues to have the rights of the USA constitution and the pursuit of happiness when she is our age.

Is this a happy fourth? Our son’s and daughters getting killed in foreign lands for nothing. Corporations destroying our country in every which way they can. The unpatriotic people in our government and beyond destroying our nation. Think Again.

The industrial military complex, the industrial oil complex, the industrial pharmaceutical complex, the industrial banking complex, the industrial fascist complex and the industrial financial institutional complex’s “being” our government. How has this nation fallen so fast into the abbess of ruination. Are you happy? I’m not.

ON THIS 4TH OF JULY, LET’S DECLARE OUR GOVERNMENT’S INDEPENDENCE FROM ITS CORPORATE PRIVATEERS,
    AND BRING OUR PEOPLE HOME.

The corporate fascists are gaining on the patriotic people of America. It seam that we can’t see the forest because of the trees.

I’ll say it again, Ben Franklin said after signing the Declaration of Independence “I hope we can hold on to this republic.”

Go eat a hot dog, some cheery pie and dust off the old chevy. We are in it for the long haul, so, let it be on our shoulders to reestablish again a more perfect union for the people, of the people and by the people.

OMG! She is so beautiful!! And the costume was awesome, Kathy. I feel the same way about the 4th. I decorate with flags around our Veterans For Peace sign in the front yard!

    Enjoy your stay-cation. :)

So glad you, the collective you, are enjoying your holiday; that little doll baby will be in high school before you know it!
Some think that pictures are for those who cannot remember; I think that some people are full of shit.

    Good luck.

Very, very cute young lady. Congrats to Mike and Kathy.

Brad took me as the final caller to your show last night. He wanted me to talk about my book “Proving Election Fraud”, but we only had a few seconds. I’ll be calling in again tonight to summarize the book and explain my motivation in writing it.

NATO airstrike kills five Afghan soldiers

Five Afghan government soldiers were accidentally killed and two others wounded in a pre-dawn NATO airstrike on Wednesday, prompting condemnation from the country’s government.

“ISAF aircraft bombed and martyred five of our soldiers,” spokesman Zaher Azimi said. “We condemn this incident and regret that this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. We hope it is the last time.”

    Molly ist eine schone madchen,
    Molly is a beautiful girl.

She’s very lucky to have parents who love her so much.

She’s just a little girl and will be an adult soon enough. She doesn’t know about all the horrible things that are happening in the world or whether the 4th is worshiping a holiday that represents repression or anything like that. When she does find out, she will probably stop celebrating it. She can play with her dog and enjoy her childhood.

She is growing up beautifully and clearly has a mind of her own. In the 60s it was hard to participate because we were ‘different’ (hippies). My kids probably missed out on some things. I’m really glad that you are part of your community, for Molly’s sake at least. It can’t always be easy.

Brad is great, but we miss you two. Rest, relax, and have fun. We look forward to ranting with you soon!

What will happen to Uncle Thomas when the literal Nazis seize power?:

Tea Party Think Tank Headed By Clarence Thomas’ Wife Makes Common Cause With Militia Guru Larry Pratt
Listed among the friends of Virginia Thomas’ new Tea Party think-tank is Gun Owners of America, headed by white-supremacist-friendly, militia guru Larry Pratt

“…It is highly unlikely that Pratt’s bitter rhetoric is a secret to Ginni Thomas. Pratt is no stranger to controversy. He’s an unabashed supporter of the militia movement; his 1990 book, Armed People Victorious, is viewed by many in the movement as an inspirational text.

In 1996, Pratt was forced to resign his role as an adviser to Pat Buchanan’s presidential campaign when it was revealed that, in 1992, he addressed a gathering of white supremacists in Estes, Colorado. Included on the roster of speakers that day were neo-Nazis and militia advocates, including Louis Beam, a former Texas Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who had taken his cause over to the Aryan Nation organization. The meeting had been called by Pete Peters, then leader of the Christian Identity movement, whose theology states that black people are subhuman and Jews are the spawn of Satan…”

    @ Fruit

It finally happened! And it’s all about equal rights. Gays and Lesbians have every right to be happily or, miserably married…just like the rest of us.
But, I’m afraid that the anti-gays won’t give up their hypocritical moralizing anytime soon. Why is gay marriage so threatening to those fuckheads?

Oscar Grant, a Victim of American Fear

Why even decades after the civil-rights era, a cop shooting an unarmed black man is barely a crime.

….I want to focus for a moment on the distinction between voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. To convict on the higher charge of voluntary manslaughter, the prosecution would have had to prove that Mehserle’s fear of Grant and his friends was “unreasonable.” It decided the crime was involuntary. In other words, Mehserle’s fear? That was reasonable.

Fear is at the core of questions of justice involving the deaths of black people at the hands of the authorities in the United States of America, dating back to when Toussaint L’Overture put the fear of G-d in slaveowners by revealing that their “property” might someday rise up against them….

You said it! First there’s fear, then there’s hatred. Concerning gays, for example, homophobes fear what they hate most about themselves. A fine example of homophobic behavior is, Sen. Larry Craig!

Native American tribe reclaims slice of the Hamptons after court victory

Shinnecock nation recovers ancestral lands in millionaires’ Long Island playground after gaining federal recognition

But this land is not part of the Hamptons, neither is it really part of the United States any more. This patch – in the middle of the playground to Manhattan’s social elite – is proudly and fiercely Native American country.

Almost four centuries since their first contact with the white man and after a 32-year court battle that has just ended in victory, the tiny Shinnecock tribe has now been formally recognised by America’s federal government.
