Personhood?

It seems many prominent Republicans refuse to heed the advice of RNC chair Reince Pribus and other party architects who’ve begged their political pawns to stop already with their curious obsession with female lady-parts.  Last year’s outrageous  “legitimate’ rape comments, proposed forced vaginal probes,  “heartbeat” laws, condescending remarks about knee-squeezed aspirin, God-ordained rape pregnancies, and magic ovaries that “shut down” rapist sperm proved wildly unpopular  – imagine that – and severely damaged the Grand Old Party.

Still, these elephants, it seems, never learn.

Speaking at an anti-abortion rally in Washington DC that drew thousands of misguided Teabaggers, John Boehner vowed to “make abortion a relic of the past.”   Huffington Post has the story:

As hundreds of thousands of people braved sub-freezing temperatures in Washington, D.C., on Friday to join the anti-abortion protest March for Life, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) took the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to banning abortion in America for good.

Addressing the crowd at the National Mall via video broadcast, Boehner said it’s time for anti-abortion activisits to “commit ourselves to doing everything we can to protect the sanctity of life.” Step one, he said, is making permanent the Hyde Amendment, which prevents federal dollars from being used to pay for abortions except in cases of rape or incest.

“For the new Congress, that means bringing together a bipartisan pro-life majority and getting to work,” Boehner said. “In accordance with the will of the people, we will again work to pass the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, formally codifying the Hyde Amendment.”

Boehner said he will make it a national priority to “help make abortion a relic of the past.”

Failed GOP candidate Rick Santorum was also in attendance, proving he never met a fetus he didn’t want to take home and cuddle.

So tell me, Boehner, what does a “relic of the past” mean to you?  I know what it means to most women.  Coat-hangers, fatal infections, bleeding to death in the bathtub, chemical poisoning, babies stuffed into dumpsters . . . these re the relics of the past Roe v Wade sought to abolish.

And it is high time your Neocons practice what you preach, isn’t it? If you are pro-life, why aren’t you hypocrites clogging up the streets to stop gun violence?  Instead of  – or in addition to – abortion, why not ban guns, which make scores fully-formed human beings dead every. single. day.   Many of these are actual, living children.   If you care so deeply about the sanctity of human life, why not fight to ban guns with the same zeal you seek to end privacy rights?

Are guns so much more precious than women in your misogynistic mini-minds?

It’s amazing to me that these dumb bastard republikkklans still need a class in sex education.

    Agreed.

We are conditioned to notice and emphasize the differences among ourselves, instead of the similarities. The corporate-style partitioning begins early in life: fetus, newborn, infant, toddler, preschool, lower school, middle school, junior high, senior high, pre-teen, teen. Get in your box and stay there! …the late, great George Carlin also, most popular amongst Replicans…IF IT AIN’T BROKE, BREAK IT

  5. JMEISTER says:

Question… How many Republicans does it take to fix a broken light bulb? Answer- None, because they Don’t Know How to fix anything.

  6. Denny NNWofLA says:

    …except elections.
