Seems the minions who swerve Dark Lord Cheney aren’t being completely forthcoming about the nature of his latest implanted device to force his heart into continued service of his deteriorating body.  Camp Cheney is spinning the story as a wonderful event that will restore their Master to a normal level of activity and function.  Truth is, the LVAD (left-ventricular assist device) is an end-of-the-road device which requires multiple battery changes each day, an external port, and grants an average life expectancy of only two years.  And he’ll have no pulse as the pump will circulate the bolld without generating a heartbeat </shudder> as if he wasn’t creepy enough already.

Also up for discussion tonight is the latest failure by BP to stop the volcano of death is created in the Gulf.  Scary rumors are beginning to emerge that the relief well BP promises will forever stop this nightmare simply will not work, because there is also an underground leak that BP is unable to reach.  Is this an extinction-level event?  Anybody see the movie, The Road? </shudder x 2>

The news can’t get much worse, can it?  The hurricane headed toward Texas, the crisis in the Gulf, suicides, the worsening economy, the potential war in Iran . . . it almost makes you afraid to turn on the TV.

Arlen Specter is getting feisty in his forced retirement, or at least he seemed fired up in his questioning of would-be Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan today.  Lindsey Graham had an interesting line of questioning for Kagan as well.  We’ll talk about today’s hearings on the program tonight.

Shortly after Obama shared a burger with Medvedev, we learn Russian spies have infiltrated US security.  Was Medvedev involved in the plot –  behind the veil of mayo and pickle chips?

 Sounds like a James Bond thriller.  We’ll also continue discussion on the greatest oil catastrophe in US history.
