Aftermath

No video tonight, Truthseekers, but we now have power and will bring you a new program tonight.  We hope you and your families are safe and unharmed.   We were without power for 26 hours but are ok.  Our family near Charleston and in Tampa are ok.  So many are not.

There are about 1 million still without power in Georgia, and trees and power lines down everywhere. But that pales in comparison to the 15 million without power or homes in Florida.  17 are confirmed dead, and it’s a miracle more didn’t die in this storm.  25% of Florida homes have been destroyed.  That’s one in four.  How do you recover from that?

PHOTO: The aftermath of Hurricane Irma is seen in Florida Keys, Fla, Sept. 11, 2017. And remember, Houston residents are still reeling from the devastation of hurricane Harvey.  FEMA is overwhelmed.  Texas, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Louisiana have an expected half-trillion dollars in damages.  Think on that one for a minute.  What does that do to our debt ceiling?  What does that do to our economy?  Our status in the world?  Our debt to China?  Our national psyche?  Our traumatized and newly-homeless citizens?

And it’s only September, hurricane season lasts through November.  There could be – God forbid – more devastation yet to come.

So how is our fearless leader reacting to this unparalleled US tragedy? Recent Tweets from the pretend POTUS:

“The devastation left by Hurricane Irma was far greater, at least in certain locations, than anyone thought – but amazing people working hard!”

Big devastation! More than people thought!

“Hurricane Irma is of epic proportion, perhaps bigger than we have ever seen”

“Hurricane looks like largest ever recorded in the Atlantic!”
“HISTORIC rainfall in Houston, and all over Texas,”Floods are unprecedented, and more rain coming. Spirit of the people is incredible. Thanks!”
“Wow – Now experts are calling #Harvey a once in 500 year flood! We have an all out effort going, and going well!Image result for hurricane
Many people are now saying that this is the worst storm/hurricane they have ever seen. Good news is that we have great talent on the ground.”TEAMWORK! Record setting rainfall.”

“Storm turned Hurricane is getting much bigger and more powerful than projected,”
“Unprecedented.” “Epic.” “Historic.” “Record setting.”

You get the idea.  He seems to take some kind of delight in the “BIGGEST BADDEST DEVASTATION EVER!!!!”  Sick Puppy.  Miami and the Keys are sinking into the ocean and he’s reveling in the magnitude of the disaster, as if the hurricanes are presenting themselves for his entertainment and/or approval.  Bigly.

We are live tonight, Truthseekers, because we are lucky.  Again, so many are not.  Global climate change cannot be denied by any thinking human being with a conscience.  Obviously, that excludes most Republicans.  We will discuss tonight.

Harvey and now Irma are just nature’s way of saying H I and all the ‘thoughts and prayers’ weren’t enough to restrain the forces of man-caused climate destruction. This should be a wake up call to those still in denial. But will it be? Seems easier to blame, oh, Obama. It was Obama’s fault. That should give those Trump supporters who have just lost everything something on which to build, right?

Actually…YES, Denny. It was indeed partly Obama’s fault that we got Trump, sir. If he had been just half of the progressive that he ran as, we may be in a different place. It’s true that he had a lot of obstruction from the GOP but that fact of the matter is, Obama was a Neocon on Economics and foreign policy. Which is why he did not at least try to implement progressive policies that would improve the lives of the working class. The Obama/Hillary corporate wing of the Democratic party must die if we ever hope to win back the White House, the Senate, the House, and those thousand seats + we have lost. Which is why I’m on board with organizations such as Our Revolution, Justice Democrats, and Brand New Congress. We are going to primary every corrupt corporate Dem OUT of office!

By the way, I can understand the folks who say that the Democratic party is a lost cause and we need to start another party(Draft Bernie) BUT because of the way of system is set-up…I think we still need to do everything in our power in the present to reform the Democratic party. However, that is going to take a massive amount of people getting involved in the political process. And as of now, I’m seeing good signs of progress.
